Genoa is the second watch collection by Plan Watches. This series is limited and draws inspiration from the aesthetics, culture, style and fashion of the 1950s referring to elements and details of old scooter dashboards in design and construction features. Genoa offers the fresh point of view on retro watches inspired by a vehicle. Dashboards of scooters produced by such companies as Piaggio and Innocenti in the middle of the 20th century serve as a source of inspiration for the Genoa design.
The watch face has an opaque outer ring similar to vintage gauges. The extra 24-hour dial refers to vintage speedometers, and the date window is a nod to old mileage counters. The fonts we use reflect types common on 1950s scooters. The movement on board is a retrograde Miyota GP00. The domed crystal has a sapphire coating. Traditionally, Plan Watches uses different finishings for steel surfaces to diversify the feeling of the watch. The dial is multi-layered and has volume indexes.
The packaging includes two straps inspired by racing watches — the one is perforated and made of cow skin, and the other is a nylon strap making reference to racing liveries.
